A Momentous Milestone

On March 10th, 1965, Dr. Charles H. Wright and 32 people, who represented the Detroit community, attended an organizational meeting for the museum. After significant discussion, a motion was made and passed to support the concept of a museum “dedicated to the task of correcting the distortions and filling in the deletions of the recorded Black experience”.
