Join us for the 2nd annual Educators' Night at the Charles H. Wright Museum and Detroit Cultural Center!

This free event is a unique way for K-12 educators to explore the incredible educational resources offered by our cultural institutions

WHO: This event is designed as an open house format. Teachers are encouraged to check in at the institution that best matches their teaching discipline and then visit the other institutions throughout the night.

WHY: 

  • Explore seven participating cultural institutions in Detroit.
  • Discover educational resources to inspire, connect, and enrich your students' lives.
  • Receive a free Detroit Cultural Center tote bag (for those who register in advance).
  • Enjoy food trucks and other fun teacher freebies (while supplies last).

WHEN: Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Activities and Tours: 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM

WHAT: Build Strong Relationships: Foster connections between Cultural Center institutions and educators, paving the way for enriching educational partnerships. Showcase Opportunities: Learn about field trips, workshops, traveling programs, and summer camps to expand student engagement with cultural organizations. Resource Empowerment: Gain insights into curriculum materials, videos, and resources developed by participating organizations to create dynamic classroom experiences. Registration is required, and free!

About the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History was founded in 1965 and is in the heart of Midtown Detroit’s Cultural Center. The Wright Museum’s mission is to open minds and change lives through the exploration and celebration of African American history and culture. And Still We Rise: Our Journey Through African American History and Culture — the museum’s 22,000 square foot, immersive core exhibit — is one of the largest, single exhibitions surveying the history of African Americans. The Wright Museum houses over 35,000 artifacts and archival materials and offers more than 300 public programs and events annually.
