Third Thursdays @ The Wright - February

Thursday, February 20 | 6pm-9pm

About February Program

Step into an enchanting evening of celebration, connection, and artistry at Third Thursday at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on February 20th, from 7 PM to 9 PM, as we honor the beauty and depth of Black Love.

Arrive early for an exclusive opportunity to mix and mingle from 6 PM to 7 PM. You can enjoy delicious food and refreshing beverages while connecting with fellow attendees.

This month's theme, "Black Love: A Resignation," curated by the brilliant La Shaun Phoenix Kotaran, draws inspiration from Nikki Giovanni's timeless poem Resignation. Through her legacy, we reflect on love in its many forms—resilient, vulnerable, and infinitely powerful.

Be captivated by the stirring sounds of soulful R&B performed by Detroit's powerhouse artists, whose voices will resonate with the warmth and strength of love. Let your spirit soar as gifted poets take the stage, weaving evocative narratives that celebrate the complexity and beauty of Black love, echoing the profound themes of Giovanni's work.

Join us for this unforgettable evening of music, poetry, and community. Together, let us revel in the richness of creativity, connection, and the enduring legacy of Black love.
