History in the House: Celebrating 60 Years at The Wright
On March 10th, 1965, Dr. Charles H. Wright and 32 people, who represented the Detroit community, attended an organizational meeting for the museum. After significant discussion, a motion was made and passed to support the concept of a museum “dedicated to the task of correcting the distortions and filling in the deletions of the recorded Black experience”.
Join us for a family friendly and free day at The Wright to celebrate this 60-year milestone!
We will have a full day of activities, community vendors, food and fun.
This will be the closing weekend for our Gems and Paul Collins exhibitions. Don’t miss your chance to see these exhibitions.
