- What are the dates and location of the 2024 African World Festival?
AWF is July 12th through 14th at Hart Plaza in Detroit, Michigan from 11 AM to 11 PM every day.
- What qualifications are required to volunteer for the festival?
- 18+ years old
- Must attend festival orientation
- Consent to a background check
- Volunteer at least (1) full 4-hour shift
- Will volunteers receive any training or orientation before the event?
Yes. Attending AWF Volunteer Orientation is mandatory for everyone interested in being a volunteer.
There will be two volunteer orientations, you’re only required to attend ONE. Please note registration is required:
- Thursday, June 27th | 5:30-7 PM (in person)
- Sunday, June 30 | 1-2:30 PM (virtual)
- What is the time commitment expected from volunteers during the festival?
Volunteers are expected to attend shifts as assigned. One shift consists of 4 hours in that role.
All volunteers will be provided with water and refreshments.
- Are there any age restrictions for volunteers?
Volunteers must be 18+ years old.
