BLACK HOLE: A Journey of Transformation and Potential
Event Location: General Motors Theatre
BLACK HOLE is a groundbreaking performance inspired by the Afrofuturism movement, where the boundaries between past, present, and future are explored through dance, visual art, and narrative storytelling.
The performance revolves around a transformative journey that challenges the concept of the "Black Hole" as a cosmic void, reimagining it instead as a space of radical change and limitless potential. Three Black dancers take center stage in a narrative driven by unity, vigor, and the unyielding spirit of progress, symbolizing a brighter future through the lens of Afrofuturism.
This event will feature a conversation between Neil Barclay, President & CEO of the Wright Museum, and Shamel Pitts | TRIBE, the visionary artist behind the work. Together, they will explore the themes of transformation, the exploration of Black identity in the future, and the power of collaboration in the face of adversity.
Join us for this dynamic and inspiring evening, where art, vision, and dialogue come together to illuminate new possibilities.
