Kwanzaa 2010
As part of its winter festivities, the Wright played host to four days of Kwanzaa celebration. Each was dedicated to one of the seven principles of the holiday: Umoja (Unity), Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), and Nia (Purpose). Special arts & crafts activities, musical events, storytelling, marketplaces, ceremonies, and screenings of "The Black Candle," a Kwanzaa celebration film by M.K. Asante, helped to spread the lessons, good will, and fun!
