Genealogy & Racial Healing Workshop | Part 1

Saturday, June 22 at 2 PM

*RSVP is required for attendance*

The Genealogy and Racial Healing Project seeks to inform and change hearts, minds and the deeply held—often unconscious—biases that are frequently at the core of structural racism. The project elevates awareness and understanding that the concept of race is a lie. A falsehood planned, constructed and maintained with the sole intent of dividing, conquering and subjugating us all.

A key benefit to participating individuals and organizations will be the opportunity to create and nurture a new personal life story, a new community story, a new organizational story – a whole new race narrative.

Robert Smith of History ReMake will present during the first session, and Leslie Williams and Omer Jean Winborn from the Fred Hart Williams Genealogical Society will present during the second session.

Presented in partnership with New Detroit, this 2-part workshop is free and open to the public! Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of New Detroit.
