Brown Bag Weekly Film Series presents I Am Not Your Negro

Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 11 AM - 1 PM

Are you looking for a great spot to take your lunch hour? Whether you brought your lunch from home or picked it up from one of the many great restaurants around Midtown, bring it to The Wright and enjoy free films in our Orientation Theater!

In I Am Not Your Negro, master filmmaker Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished; the result is a radical, up-to-the-minute examination of race in America, using Baldwin’s original words and flood of rich archival material. I Am Not Your Negro is a journey into black history that connects the past of the Civil Rights movement to the present of #BlackLivesMatter. And, ultimately, by confronting the deeper connections between the lives and assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr., Baldwin and Peck have produced a work that challenges the very definition of what America stands for.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information call (313) 494-5800.
