nathantrice/RITUALS dance theater in collaboration with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History present the Recognizing Women Project 2017 with performances Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 PM. Performances feature Cass Technical Dancers performing "3," "Their Speech Is Silver, Their Silence Is Gold," and the company performance of "Strange Love".
In 2001 Trice created the Recognizing Women’s Project, an interdisciplinary research and performance initiative led by nathantrice/RITUALS dance theater. The mission of the project is to develop and present artistic/educational performances that address various contributions and experiences of women. New works are developed through a collaborative interdisciplinary analysis team comprised of our company, local dancer, community and students enrolled in university/college social sciences, humanities, women & gender studies and other disciplines relevant to our focus. The goals of the Recognizing Women Project's research and performance initiative are to develop an interdisciplinary understanding and narrative of each focus and create theatrical dance works inspired by those understandings and narratives.
