42nd U.S. Stamp in the Black Heritage Series honors Gregory Hines on February 1, 2019 at 6 PM

Throughout his career, musician, singer, and dancer Gregory Hines was an advocate for tap in America. In 1988, he successfully petitioned the creation of National Tap Dance Day, which is now celebrated in 40 cities in the United States.

On November 20, 2018, the United States Postal Service announced that Gregory Hines would be featured on a first class postage stamp, as part of the Postal Service's Black Heritage series. The Gregory Hines postage stamp is scheduled to be issued on January 28, 2019. Join us for a celebration of the addition of Gregory Hines (1946 - 2003) to the U.S. Black Heritage Series!
