The Wright Museum

African American History Teen Trivia Challenge on February 2, 2019 from 12 - 4:30 PM

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History invites Detroit Public School students to a two-day trivia battle of the minds. The purpose of our Teen Trivia Challenge is to get youth interested in black history and culture, as well as give rising college students the opportunity to win scholarships!

Nine (9) high schools will have the opportunity to pull together a team of seven (7) 11th and 12th grade students, well versed in African American history and culture, to compete in a trivia challenge based on our "And Still We Rise" exhibit.

Schools must provide their team's cumulative GPA, along with a written statement as to why they should advance to the competition stage of the Teen Trivia Challenge. All participating students will have the opportunity to receive a guided tour of the exhibit and ask any questions prior to challenge day.

All questions will be based upon material from the "And Still We Rise" exhibit, and educators from the Education Department at the Wright Museum will serve as moderators.

First and second place schools will receive a total amount of $2,500 in college scholarships from the Charles H. Wright Museum for their participating students.
