People of the Infinite Fires, a project of Art as Ritual

Sunday, July 23 through Friday, 28, 2017

Located outside on the museum grounds at the Warren entrance

People of the Infinite Fires will take place during the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Rebellion in Detroit.  Beginning and ending on the same dates of the Rebellion, this project will create space for ritual catharsis and artistic performance around a sacred fire that will burn continuously for five days and be a site that is curated for performances by local artists, and also become a space for community members who want to perform their own rituals around the fire.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information call (313) 494-5800.
