You are cordially invited to attend this community meeting regarding the 29th Annual African World Festival to be held Friday - Sunday, August 19 - 21, 2011, at the Philip A. Hart Plaza on downtown Detroit's riverfront.

This community meeting will serve as a general session to discuss the elements of the festival.  Our theme this year is a “One Love Celebration” honoring Bob Marley, Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Gil Scott Heron.  All ideas, suggestions and feedback from previous festivals are welcomed.

The 29th Annual African World Festival is looking for you!  Come be a part of this festive cultural event that attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees over the three-day weekend.  This is a GREAT opportunity to give back to your community while having fun and meeting new people!  If interested, please visit http://thewright.org/awf-volunteer.
