UHURU: The Birth of Black Revolutionary Nationalism in 1960’s Detroit

Saturday, April 15 at 2 PM

To help commemorate the 1967 Detroit Rebellion there will be a panel discussion on the 1960s organization UHURU (Swahili word for freedom) that was created by college students who advocated for equal treatment and rights for African Americans. Moderator: Dr. David Goldberg. Speakers: Dr. Luke Tripp, John Williams and Dr. Charles Simmons.
