The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History presents the GRIOT Youth Story Slam Friday April 29 - slam for prizes including a brand new iPad2, museum swag & more!  Rules:
• Contestants should prepare a story based on the theme of "influences" - it must be personal or close to their heart, and true to the best of their recollection.
• The story should have a beginning, middle and end. 
• Contestants have up to 5 minutes to tell the story from memory (and not a sheet of paper). 
• No cursing, cussing or nasty stuff!
• Contestants must be high school age (9th - 12th grade). Contestants under the age of 18 must have a parent's or guardian's permission.


"If there is a story you want to hear and have never heard it, you must tell it." Are you ready?  This event is FREE & open to the public!
