Grandparents Day, 9/9/2012

Grandparents and their grandchildren spent an afternoon together on September 9th thanks to the Women’s Committee of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. This was the Museum’s sixth year hosting Grandparents Day, and with the support of AARP Michigan, this free event included a health fair, balloon art, face painting, refreshments, the ultimate Wii experience, and tours of the exhibits. WDIV-TV meteorologist and reporter Andrew Humphrey was the master of ceremonies, and Dr. Roberta Hughes-Wright, widow of Museum founder Dr. Charles H. Wright, was the grandparent honoree.
